Lodgings in central Berkeley provide the most variety. You can stay at a Bed & Breakfast or pensione-style property or at an inexpensive motel or more upscale chain hotel. If you're in the East Bay on business and need quick access to the freeway, consider one of the chain properties just off Interstate 80 in Berkeley or Emeryville or off I-880 near the Oakland.
