


The Transcontinental and Sacramento Valley railroads began in Old Sacramento. The 100,000-square-foot museum is the finest and most visited of its kind in North America, displaying 21 restored locomotives and cars, 1,000 fantastic toy trains, all-new exhibits highlighting the human face of the railroad, and the “Lost Spike.” Large museum store located inside museum lobby.
Six-mile round-trip steam train rides operate weekends April-September from the Central Pacific Freight Depot in Old Sacramento.
