Hotel prices are for two people in a standard double room in high season, excluding service charges and 7%-8% tax. Full-service hotels, budget motels, small inns, and even a fine hostel can all be found in Sacramento. The main accommodations in the larger towns along Highway 49 -- among them Placerville, Nevada City, Auburn, and Mariposa -- are chain motels and inns.
