Shasta Cascade Wonderland Itineraries

Begin at Turtle Bay Exploration Park, taking time to check out the latest exhibits inside the Turtle Bay Museum and also visiting the Turtle Bay Visitor Center for unique gifts as well as crafts by local artists.  Next, take a lunch break at the Turtle Bay café, overlooking the world-famous Sundial Bridge.  Take a one-hour river cruise on the Sacramento River from the boat ramp near the Sundial Bridge or (seasonally) take a guided kayak tour along the banks of Whiskeytown Lake.  On your return from Whiskeytown Lake, stop and visit the museum and original jail and gallows at the Shasta State Historic Park.  Rent a Segway near the Turtle Bay visitor center and take a guided tour along the banks of the Sacramento River Trail.  Dine in one of Downtown Redding’s locally owned and operated restaurants before catching a show at the beautifully restored Cascade Theatre.  Before heading home for the night, stop and walk across the Sundial Bridge for a most amazing night-time view of this glass decked pedestrian bridge lit from beneath by dozens lights that cast an aqua blue glow on the bridge’s surface.
