Shasta Cascade Wonderland Itineraries

Start your trip in Redding with a guided tour of the Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay, and visit the Park’s Butterfly House and Museum before stopping for lunch at one of a number of locally owned and operated restaurants in town.  Take a free tour of Shasta Dam and Lake Shasta Caverns, then catch a show at the Redding Performing Arts Center, Cascade Theatre, or Riverfront Playhouse.  On the second day, drive through Lassen Volcanic National Park and on to Burney Falls before returning to Redding for dinner and a movie.  Day 3 starts with a visit to Shasta State Historic Park after which you will take a guided kayak tour of Whiskeytown Lake before hiking to the newly discovered Whiskeytown Falls or your choice of three more spectacular waterfalls inside the National Recreation Area.

On the morning of Day 4, drive to awe inspiring Mt. Shasta for great photo ops, shopping, an informational visit to the fish hatchery, and dinner on board the Shasta Sunset Dinner Train.  Return to Redding for a good night’s rest before heading out for your final day’s adventures.  On Day 5, return to Turtle Bay Exploration Park for an early morning tour of the Mediterranean themed McConnell Arboretum & Gardens.  Walk across the Sundial Bridge to Turtle Bay Café for lunch before driving to the Redding Aquatic Center for hours of un-crowded family fun and relaxation.
