Colorado Springs Itineraries

Drive west of Colorado Springs to the Colorado Wolf & Wildlife Center, a sanctuary for rescued animals where you can get up close to magnificent wolves, coyotes and foxes. The one-hour tour concludes with a wolf howl that will linger in your memory and your heart. Just one hour from Colorado Springs is the mining town of Cripple Creek. On your way, stop at the Rocky Mountain Dinosaur Resource Center in Woodland Park and the Fossil Beds in Florissant. Once in Cripple Creek, start at the Pikes Peak Heritage Center for interactive education and spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Plunge 1,000 feet underground as you tour the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine and then relive the temporary accommodations of some of the wilder historic characters at the Jail Museum. Add a trip on the historic Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad revealing scenic wonders around every curve as century old steam locomotives transport you back to the gold mining days in this region. On your way back to Colorado Springs, enjoy creekside dining and wine tasting at Wines of Colorado.
