Denver’s moments of pop-music history have been spectacular. Many happened at the one-of-a-kind Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where the Beatles performed in 1964 and U2 recorded their “Under a Blood Red Sky” live album and film. Red Rocks still plays host to a phenomenal summer concert series each year, offering incredible natural beauty and the biggest names in music. There are dozens of popular annual music festivals in Denver, including the Mile High Music Festival, Latino Rhythms, Colorado Blues Festival, Monolith and the Denver Post Underground Music Festival.
The local scene remains strong, with The Fray, Flobots and DeVotchKa earning devoted followings nationwide, and numerous neighborhood clubs featuring folk, jazz, rock and funk every night of the week. If you’re a music lover, Denver won’t disappoint.
