Introduction

Colorado offers a diverse vacation experience for all seasons. In the winter, travelers come to Colorado for its top ranked skiing and snowboarding, as well as other winter activities such as snow shoeing, sledding and snowmobiling. In the spring and summer, Colorado boasts a number of experiences that are unique to these seasons, including “sledging,” a new adventure river sport imported from New Zealand. Visits to Colorado’s iconic national parks and monuments, scenic and historic railroad travel, whitewater rafting, biking, fishing are also perfect spring and summer activities. In the fall, Colorado’s foliage transforms the state’s landscape into a vivid palette of brilliant golds. Many visitors travel the state’s 25 scenic byways and use ski lifts and gondolas to catch a glimpse of the changing colors.

 

Colorado’s annual special events also attract visitors from all over the world. The state is home to events for all types of travelers, from international festivals celebrating food and wine, art, film, and music to unusual and entertaining traditional events.

 

Once you are here, stop by one of Colorado’s nine Welcome Centers located in Fruita, Cortez, Trinidad, Lamar, Burlington, Julesburg, Fort Collins, Dinosaur and Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre near Denver. You will find more than 500 Colorado volunteers at our Welcome Centers, helping visitors with inside information and travel guides on the best attractions to see and experience in Colorado.
