Children enjoy the spider monkeys, the pygmy hippopotamus, and the white tiger (feedings are every day at 3:30 p.m.) in this quiet zoo, the only rain-forest zoo in the United States. There are a variety of native Hawaiian species, such as the state bird, the nene (Hawaiian goose), as well as a small petting zoo.
