

About 1.3 miles from the start of Kuamoo Road, (Route 580), from Hwy. 56; signs point to the lookout on the right.

Cascading down into a hidden pool, this lacy waterfall is easily the island’s most accessible major waterfall. ‘Opaeka‘a means “rolling shrimp,” which were once abundant in the stream. Walk uphill and across the road for another view of the Wailua river valley and interior plains beyond.
