Introduction
Restaurant prices are per person for a main course at dinner. Traditionally, Cape restaurants have not favored fancy sauces or sophisticated cooking techniques. Now there is a younger generation of Cape Cod chefs who aren't afraid to bring more ingredients and international influence to the table. That said, there's a Lobster Pot/Trap/Claw/Bowl/Net in every town. These restaurants are still authentic and great to go to with a family. And if you order lobster, you're likely to find its price to be easily the highest on the menu. Increasingly, onetime seasonal restaurants are remaining open year-round, even if they scale back in winter. Finally, note that many towns on the Cape do not allow smoking inside any restaurant, and a few have also banned lighting up in bars; Provincetown recently prohibited smoking in both venues. Such bans are strictly enforced.
