When to Go to Minneapolis
The beauty and sophistication of Minneapolis is augmented by its striking seasonal variety. Whether ice skating at the Depot around the holidays or cooling off at one of the city's 22 lakes on a hot summer day, you will enjoy the abundance of activities each season brings.
Winter
Lakes are full of life with skaters, the landscape is full of snowmen and downtown bustles with shoppers and diners.
Spring
Weather may be glorious or volatile depending on the day, so pack a heavy jacket. By May, flowers are popping, trees blossom, gardens are planted and the city bursts into life.
Summer
The perfect season to hang out at one of our 10,000 lakes! Restaurants bustle with sidewalk patrons and the city is animated with bikers, joggers, sunbathers and festivals.
Fall
As the air turns crisp and leaves turn fiery colors, fall is easily one of the most beautiful times in Minneapolis. Enjoy striking fall colors and lively outdoor activities in mild temperatures by packing a sweater or a light jacket.
