Visit the Morris Museum, formerly the home of the Dodge family, on Normandy Heights Road in Morris Township. The museum has a permanent exhibition called “Musical Machines & Living Dolls”, a collection of 150 historic mechanical musical instruments and automata. The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday, except on major holidays. There is an admission charge and quality gift shop.

Visit Acorn Hall, a three-story clapboard Italianate Victorian home built in 1853, with an octagonal tower and sprawling porches. Acorn Hall retains 95% of the furnishings original to the two families who lived there, other examples of Victoriana including a Victorian boxwood garden. Open throughout the year on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Call for hours of operation. There is an admission charge and gift shop.

Visit Macculloch Hall, located in the Historic District of Morristown, the oldest brick residence in Morristown, home of George Macculloch, the father of the Morris Canal. The museum features a collection of 18th & 19th century decorative and fine arts and is home to the largest collection of works by Thomas Nast, political cartoonist, whose home is a national historic landmark directly across the street. Behind Macculloch Hall are the oldest gardens in Morris County, dating from 1795. The museum is open Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and the gardens are open every day dawn to dusk. There is an admission charge for the museum and a gift shop.
