The best time to begin a visit to Old Town is in the morning, before the stores open at 10 and the daily rush of activity begins. In the beaming morning light, the echoes of the past are almost palpable (and you might find parking). Plan to spend an hour and a half at the Old Town sites, an hour in the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, and two hours in the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. In the afternoon, you can either drive up to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center or drive downtown, where you can explore this up-and-coming neighborhood, visit the New Mexico Holocaust & Intolerance Museum, or continue driving south to the National Hispanic Cultural Center. It's impractical to see everything in this area in one day, so consider breaking up your tour into two days if you wish to see every attraction.
