Introduction
The Petroglyph National Monument, located on Albuquerque’s Westside, features volcanoes, archeological sites and an estimated 20,000 carved images, or petroglyphs. Many of the images are recognizable as animals, people, brands and crosses and can be easily viewed from the hiking trails.
