New York City Itineraries

Spend a day visiting famous sites where film and television history was made.

While Tiffany’s does not actually serve breakfast, the store remains a popular destination, in part, thanks to the movie starring Audrey Hepburn: Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Head to Fifth Avenue at 57th Street to see this landmark of style and elegance.

To the south of Tiffany’s, you can see the Empire State Building, famous for its appearances in King Kong and Sleepless in Seattle.

To the north is Central Park Zoo, home to Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria of the animated feature, Madagascar.

If you have lunch at Katz’s Delicatessen (205 East Houston Street at Ludlow Street), you’ll notice it looks familiar. Fans of When Harry Met Sally will surely quip, “I’ll have what she’s having,” when ordering one of their famous pastrami sandwiches

The F.A.O. Schwarz at Fifth Avenue and 58th Street was featured in Big in the famous scene where Josh dances on the giant floor piano with his boss.

No other TV series showed off New York City better than Sex and the City. One of the show’s most popular sites is Tao, the multilevel pan-Asian restaurant where the girls went to drink and flirt, underneath the 16-foot-tall Buddha.

The 1984 classic Ghostbusters featured countless cameos for the Big Apple, including the New York Public Library and 2 Columbus Circle, where the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man met his ultimate doom.

Be sure to see the gigantic Unisphere at Flushing Meadows – Corona Park in Queens. The work of art was commissioned for the 1964 World’s Fair, and was fictionally demolished by an alien spaceship in Men in Black.
