When to Go to Asheville
Asheville’s mild climate and four distinct seasons mean that anytime is the perfect time to visit. Winters are generally temperate with bright sunshiny days filling the calendar. Local ski resorts usually enjoy a great ski season due to their high elevation. Vacationers can indulge in winter wonderland fun during the day, and then spend the night exploring the city.
Spring comes with a burst of natural beauty. Events such as Biltmore’s Festival of Flowers, HATCHfest, Asheville Herb Festival, Garden Jubilee and Mountain Sports Festival commemorate the season’s arrival.
Summer brings blue skies and refreshing breezes. The city comes to life as sidewalk cafés spill out into the streets. Bele Chere, the largest free street festival in the Southeast, is held each year in July.
A flash of vibrant foliage welcomes fall to the mountains. Visitors enjoy a kaleidoscope of colors as the mountains and trees change. Mild temperatures make this a wonderful time to visit.
