Day 1

A learning experience not to be forgotten, students can journey from the universe within the body to the depths of the sea at Discovery Place. Over 300 exhibits including a live rain forest and an IMAX Dome Theatre will keep young minds captivated.

The next stop is a mere three blocks away at the Levine Museum of the New South. Tailor-made Southern heritage programs engage students with interactive lessons on the post-Civil War Reconstruction, the Civil Rights Movement, and much more. While in Center City, sample pizza Charlotte-style at group-friendly favorites like Fuel or Brixx.

Spend the afternoon experiencing Carowinds, where eight heart-pounding thrill rides and the Aussie-inspired Boomerang Bay with 16 acres of splash-tastic fun are enough to make anyone feel young at heart. Performance venues are also available here for student groups.

Day 2

Start your engines by learning about the physics of NASCAR at race shops like Dale Earnhardt, Inc., Hendrick Motorsports, or Roush Racing. Look under the hood and learn about the inner workings that propel racecars at speeds over 180mph.

Next, brake for PIT Instruction and Training, where students can learn about the history of NASCAR and trained pit crew members perform pit stop demonstrations on a real race car.

Get ready to make a splash when heading for the U.S. National Whitewater Center where groups of six, ages 11 and up, can take on man-made rapids on a two-hour guided rafting trip. Relax over casual eats like fried pickles and burgers at The Eddy, the on-site restaurant with an open-air patio overlooking the competition channel.
