Whitewater Rafting Tour
Southwestern Pennsylvania has some of the best whitewater rafting tours in the United States.
Rafting on the Youghiogheny (The Yough) River in the Laurel Highlands is an exhilarating experience for anyone who wants a lot of excitement, beautiful scenery, a challenge of nature and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Depending upon the degree of challenge, the duration of the trip, the equipment used, this is a fun experience for ages 12 to 80! Degrees of challenge are up to you; from family tours to more experienced levels, tours are available as well as a variety of equipment used for this whitewater experience.
Tours depart from Ohiopyle, a small town in the Laurel Highlands of southwest Pennsylvania. Two excursion companies provide guides, equipment and a fun tour. Reservations are encouraged, particularly at high water times and weekends.

Driving time from Pittsburgh to Ohiopyle is approximately 1.5 hours. Length of the tour on the river depends upon the class of experience desired. Typically, a whitewater river tour takes anywhere from 3-5 hours.
Accommodations are available in Ohiopyle as well as restaurants, snack bars and grocery stores. There is plenty of free parking.
