Introduction

With over 50 tourist attractions – some of them truly one-of-a-kind, there is no shortage of adventures to embark upon in Memphis.

The great music meccas like Graceland, The Gibson Guitar Factory, Sun Studios, Stax Museum of American Soul Music, and The Rock and Soul Museum and historic icons like The National Civil Rights Museum and W.C. Handy House are quickly associated with Memphis, but the list continues. You can cruise the streets in a 1950’s vintage bus on a Backbeat Tour while making your own music or create your own private tour of the city in an Old Pink Cadillac with American Dream Safari Tours, peruse intricate metal artwork at the National Ornamental Metal Museum or stroll through the 96 acres of perfectly groomed grounds at the Memphis Botanic Gardens.

On the list of not-to-miss is also the Mississippi River Museum right on Mud Island in the middle of the mighty river. See the history of this great city as seen from the river.

Make sure not to miss the award winning and world-famous Memphis Zoo and visit Ya-Ya and Le-Le, the giant pandas, or explore ancient Native American temple grounds at the Chucalissa Museum. The wide variety of Memphis attractions can occupy days of leisure travel, or provide some much needed time off during a hectic business trip.
