Nashville Itineraries

Day 1

Morning

Nationally acclaimed and frequented by celebrities, world travelers and local appetites alike, the Loveless Café serves up award-winning country ham and red eye gravy, real Southern-fried chicken, and Nashville's favorite scratch biscuits with homemade preserves cooked right in the kitchen. A breakfast tradition!

Next, off to Cheekwood, once the private estate of the Cheek family (Maxwell House coffee fame), it is now home to 55 acres of botanical gardens, a sculpture trail, museum of art and more. From there, travel five minutes down the road to Belle Meade Plantation. This “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations” was home to English Derby winner Iroquois and a renowned thoroughbred stud farm (horses like Seabiscuit, War Admiral and Smarty Jones all trace their lineage here).

Before touring the plantation eat lunch at the onsite restaurant, Martha’s At The Plantation.

Afternoon

Visit the Adventure Science Center, where science is an adventure! While you're there, make your way down the hatch to the heart of it all in Body Battles, Nrainstorm Theater and other interactive exhibits in Body Quest, as you learn how the body works. Plus experience the Adventure Tower, BlueMax, Mission Possible and for a limited time, DinoRumble.

Evening

It’s all fun and games at Dave & Busters. Enjoy dinner, billiards, cosmic bowling and over 150 video and video-simulated games in over 6,000 square feet of entertainment space.

Day 2

Morning

Start your day off like a local and head over to Pancake Pantry, one of Nashville’s most popular morning spots! This self declared “Nashville tradition” prompts locals, visitors and celebrities alike to line up around the block for its hot, fresh pancakes topped with warm maple syrup, honey or fresh fruit.

Next, off to Lane Motor Museum. This museum features a unique collection of mostly European automobiles, housed in a former 132,000 square foot bakery. The majority of the vehicles were built in the 1950s through 1970s although we have some as old as the 1920s and as new as 2000.

Afternoon

Head to the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, a 24,000-square foot visual art exhibition center and educational facility located downtown in the art-deco, former U.S. Post Office building. Eat lunch at the Frist Center Café and then explore ArtQuest. With over thirty incredible hands-on stations the public is invited and encouraged to become artists as they learn to create prints and collages, paint and sketch, or learn about photography, architecture, and the essentials of art, including depth, color, light, and perspective. The activities at the stations change as the Frist Center’s exhibitions change, so there’s always something new to try!

Head to the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. The Nashville Zoo is an animal adventure for everyone. Come experience the new Alligator Cove, Giraffe Savannah and red river hog habitat. Ride the Carousel, tour the Grassmere Historic Home and explore beautiful habitats featuring Bengal tigers, elephants, zebras and many other animals from around the world.

Evening

Dinner at Caney Fork Fish Camp. Nashville’s newest family seafood restaurant complete with two fish ponds and two fireplaces.

Catch an exciting showing of A Tribute to the King: Thru the Years 1953-1977. The legend lives on in Nashville, paying tribute to the King in Music City where he recorded over 300 songs. This high-energy live musical biography, starring John Beardsley, transports the audience through six eras of his career. With over 30 songs and five costumes, this show has thrilled audiences of all ages.

OR

Enjoy a performance at Nashville’s legendary Bluebird Café, where patrons can enjoy songwriters performing original material in an intimate “in the round setting”. This is a “must do” while you’re here! This would be best for older children.
