Introduction

Laramie offers a piece of history to visitors, from the Historic Ivinson Mansion to the Wyoming Territorial Prison, Historic Downtown to the University of Wyoming, and Centennial to the Rocky Mountains. Stop in at the Laramie Area Visitor Center to get all of the information for a great adventure in the Laramie Area. Laramie offers unique walking tours of Historic Downtown, Museums, Architecture, the University of Wyoming, Centennial, the old Lincoln highway and the West Side. These unique tours give you an insight to Laramie Cities earlier settlements and history. Make time to go visit the Snowy Range, 30 minutes west of Laramie, in the Medicine Bow National Forest. You’ll see high mountain lakes, wildlife, flowers and feel the serenity of the Rocky Mountains. After visiting the Snowy Range head east of Laramie to Vedauwoo Recreation Area. Vedauwoo offers great scenery with wonderful hiking trails and plenty of camping spots. Don’t forget to go to “Butch Cassidy’s Big House” at the Wyoming Territorial Prison or the Historic Ivinson Mansion. A bit of Laramie history lives in these beautiful museums.
