DiscoverAmerica.com, the first-ever Official Travel and Tourism Website of the United States, was created through a cooperative partnership between the U.S. Travel Association and the U.S. Department of Commerce to serve the 5 leading inbound travel markets to the United States.
The collection of websites launched between May 20 and July 10, 2008 and target international travelers from the five leading markets (Canada, Mexico, UK, Japan and Germany) which account for 75% of inbound travel to the U.S.
In early May 2009 a version designed specifically for U.S. resident travelers will launch.
