When to Go to Santa Barbara
The Central Coast is hospitable most of the year. Santa Barbara and Ventura are pleasant year-round. Fog often rolls in north of Pismo Beach in summer; you'll need a jacket, especially after sunset, close to the shore. The rains usually come from December through March. Hotel rooms fill up in summer, but from April to early June and in the early fall the weather is almost as fine and the pace is less hectic. And remember that hotels offer considerable discounts during the winter.
