DiscoverAmerica.com serves as the Official Travel and Tourism Website of the United States. The website is operated by Discover America LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the U.S. Travel Association, and was developed through a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of Commerce. U.S. Travel is the non-profit, trade organization located in Washington D.C. that represents over 1,700 travel related organizations. U.S. Travel's mission is to promote and facilitate increased travel to and within the United States.

DiscoverAmerica.com was developed to welcome international travelers to the United States and to assist them with their travel planning needs. In developing the website, Discover America LLC has partnered with the National Council of State Tourism Directors, National Council of Destination Marketing Organizations, Visit USA organizations and with 40+ leading travel related organizations through their participation in the DiscoverAmerica.com Advisory Council. Strategic partners currently include American Express, Fodor’s, Translations.com and Travelocity. Content on DiscoverAmerica.com was provided by leading travel authorities including American Express, CityPass, Convention and Visitor Bureaus, Fodor’s, Google, Shop America Alliance, State Tourism Offices, Travelocity, United States Department of Commerce and Weather.com.

DiscoverAmerica.com is currently designed to serve the five leading inbound markets for travel to the United States (Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Japan and Germany) but also welcomes other international travelers from around the globe to use this website for their travel planning needs. Content will be added to serve additional markets in the future.
