Shiver Me Timbers Millennium Park opened in September 2000. The park was built over a 10-day period. Local businesses donated money and supplies, and 5500 volunteers from the community worked 12 hours a day. The park is 20,000 square feet, with a tower, train, plane and other features made of splinter-free wood, a multi-story Louisiana Hurricane slide, and a treehouse. Located just south of the Lake Charles Civic Center, the view of the lake is spectacular from the top of the tower!
