Eager to get a taste of authentic Baltimore? Head to our neighborhoods, and let your appetite be your guide. Start at the Inner Harbor and sample an authentic Baltimore crab cake. Hop on a water taxi and head off to Fell’s Point, where Baltimore’s British heritage – and Irish spirit – are on display. Have some Chesapeake Bay oysters or mussels and, perhaps, a pint of ale. Allow your food to digest while perusing the shops on Thames Street and soaking in the local color.
Stroll back to the harbor via Little Italy, where the scent of garlic fills the air. Duck into a bakery and sample coffee and dessert Italian style. In the interest of leaving a few minutes between bites, browse the new, upscale shops of Harbor East before heading back to the Inner Harbor.
Stop off at the hotel to change for dinner, and walk north to Mount Vernon. Along Charles Street, you’ll find eateries specializing in cuisines as diverse as Japanese, Afghan, Thai, Continental, Indian and fanciful combinations of all the above. You could catch a cab back to the hotel, but maybe you should walk it off!
