Day 1
Arrive in Amarillo around noon and check into your hotel. Choose your attractions/events: Cowboy Roundup USA & World Championship Chuck Wagon Cook-off (October date) or maybe attend a roping or other rodeo event- and make time for shopping for western gear.
Day 2
Get up early to partake in a western breakfast at either River Breaks Ranch or Elkins Ranch Cowboy Morning, check out the Amarillo Livestock Auction (Tuesdays only), and stay for lunch at the Stockyards Café. Or attend one of the big equestrian events held throughout the year at the Amarillo National Center – i.e. ranch and PRCA/WRCA rodeos, team penning, cutting, steer roping, etc.
Maybe you would like to attend the Will Rogers Range Riders Rodeo (around July 4) or see a performance of the Kwahadi Indian Dancers (select weekends throughout the year) at the Kwahadi Museum of the American Indian. Dinner at a restaurant of your choice.
Day 3
Breakfast at your hotel and departure – maybe time for shopping for Western wear.
