Introduction
With the purpose of honoring the sacrifices for our freedom, the center portion of the memorial commemorates South Plains veterans who were killed in action. The brick and marble monument is dedicated to the veterans of Lubbock and the South Plains area, and an adjacent area honors living and deceased members of the U.S. Armed Forces. A final section is for citizens who wish to show their support of veterans and the memorial.
