The new University of Wyoming Anthropology Museum opens in Fall 2008. The museum will offer exhibits related to the four subfields of Anthropology: Archaeology, Biological, Linguistics, and Cultural. The main gallery will follow the “Human Odyssey”, starting with human evolution in Africa several million years ago and the spread of our species throughout the world to the Late Pleistocene entry into North America. The Colby Mammoth Site, the Vore Buffalo Jump, and other Wyoming archaeology sites will be featured, with much of the museum devoted to a celebration of the Native American heritage of the Northern Plains region. Other extensive displays featuring archaeological research and cultural diversity will be found throughout the building.
