Yosemite National Park

Yosemite

Two days in Yosemite were the highlight of the trip for me. Day 1, we spent doing some low-key exploring and a night tour, which was amazing (and freezing). The rock climbers camping mid-climb at night on El Capitan was a surreal sight. Day 2, we set out at midday in the blazing heat and walked and walked, and hiked and rambled across the astounding and constantly surprising scenery. The trees, waterfalls and huge panoramic views didn’t look real, and after seven hours of walking, it was getting dark and we may have been lost. A quick jog (and a knee injury) later, we caught the last bus back. (Tip No. 5: If a walk is said to take four hours, it will.)
